Requirements
- There are no educational requirements for taking this course other than a secondary school level of reading and writing. All classes will be conducted online and there is an E-book required to participate. The E-Book, “Soap Making for Beginners by Avolan Gustav-Thompson”, is available at www.mercyiwof.org.
Soap Making & Body Therapy teaches participants to craft beautiful soaps of various shapes, colours and uses, using both Cold press and Melt and Pour techniques. From oils, natural additives, colorants and scents, this course will offer participants the knowledge of creating soaps that are healthy and beneficial for the skin and various skin types or conditions.
Whether as a gift, a natural way to treat your skin or just because you like soaps, this course has a lot to offer. This cycle offers recipes for seasonally themed soaps that can be great for gift giving or Holiday home use.
Participants are required to attend ALL classes. If you are unable to attend a class, you are required to inform your facilitator and administration in advance of your absence a day before or at least three (3) hours before class where possible.
This course has one (1) mid-cycle quiz and one (1) practical assessment weekly.
Candidates should be able to make soaps using both Cold Process and Melt and Pour techniques using various oils, additives and colours, for personal use or to start a business.
Participants must successfully pass the mid-cycle assessment and submit ALL practical assignments to be awarded a certificate of participation. Additionally, participants that miss more than one class per cycle will not be awarded a certificate of participation.
